My refrigerator and freezer were both not cooling I cleaned the coils nothing changed. I removed the freezer compartment it was frosted up I looked for a defrost timer but could not find one. I thawed the freezer freplaced defrost thermostat and temp. sensor mounted mounted to the evaporator. Turned back on the freezer is not getting cold but the refrigerator is staying in the 30 deg. range set on the coldest setting. Could my problem be in the mother board or is there a defrost timer somewhere I need to check.

I had the same thing with my Amana. After doing what you already did I ended up changing the control panel. Check the bottom of your unit. Mine had a wireing diagram and a fault code troubleshooting chart. After trying all the applicable items I replaced the controler. It has been working for over a year.

Verify both freezer and condensing fans running and the compressor is warm and vibrating. If not it's stuck in defrost.

The control were you change the settings. I have no idea if this makes a differance, but my Amana is a side by side fridge with a drawer freezer on bottom.
