Hi folks -

My GE Profile side-by-side has started getting VERY hot to the touch on the door frame panel in the middle between the freezer and fridge sections. I've checked the compressor fan and it is still running, and my model is not on the GE recall list for motherboards. This is a recent development. I've vacuumed out the rear panel area - the compressor coils are apparently behind the freezer panel and I don't know how to get to them to make sure they are not dirty.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

It's possible the condensing fan motor is running slow, Put portable fan in the back of the compressor and see if that makes a difference.

I had two repair companies out. One replaced the fan, the other said it was the controller. Neither fixed the problem. I read somewhere that by pressing the "Maxcool" button on the console, it resets the computer. That is all that was wrong with mine. It is working fine now. Hope this post helps others

We have the same problem with the frame hot between the fridge and the freezer. We cleaned the condenser coils which are also hot. Is there a fan that is supposed to be running under there as well? The fridge and freezer work totally fine. Is this a fire hazard?
