Got home today and freezer had thawed. fridge contents seem to still be cold. Fan in freezer is running, just not freezing. I get an intermittent "clicking" coming from unit but cannot pinpoint it's location.

Thanks

A model number may help others help you.

Pull the unit away from the wall and remove the rear cover.
Odds are that the clicking is coming from the dtart device on the compressor.

Here is a good site on how to check the compressor and start device.
Note: That if the compressor windings check out OK it does not definitively mean that the compressor is OK as it may have internal mechanical problems.

Often this is a start device problem.

03-2-14 called to get me refrigerator fix they scheduld it for 3/14/14 and they said it was my compressor needed to be replace. Scheduled to come back on the 3/28/14 and now they say my compressor is good so did not change it out he installeded drier with dye to see if maybe a leak..did not work so I had to call them back out so they was to come on the 4/3/14 and was a no show…so they rescheduled me for 4/11/14 and at this time I will put all he did off of the receipt I got from him…..technician comments was note call several calls for diagnostics, defrost cycle, bymtal, temps

So my Freezer will not get cold at all, the refrigerator is cold no milk yet went bad……

On Memorial day I came home to a loud noise from the refrigerator and meat thawing. the fan seemed to be on continually. Under warranty, the Whirlpool directed me to a local repair service. The tech arrived the next day and quickly diagnosed 2 issues, one being the control panel. He ordered the parts and the control panel has yet to arrive, with NO ETA from Whirlpool. The ice maker was not working properly due to the in efficiency of the freezer. THe noise was coming from a build up of ice near the fan blade. His fist clue was condensation on the inside back wall of the freezer. I have also tried to look for the part elsewhere online, and one site actually said it was obsolete. I'm trying to contact WP and insist that they replace the unit if they no longer have parts to fix it. I don't know how that will go, but I don't know what else to do. The unit is cold with no ice, but I question the effectiveness of the product. ALso, they take forever to answer on the service line. We work too hard to pay so much for so little.
