Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 12/2/2007(UTC) Posts: 769		The most likely failure part would be the magnetron (AP2632740) but you may want to do some electrical checks with a multimeter before jumping in. There are several other components that can prevent the magnetron from operating so if you take it off the wall and have a meter handy, we can give you some things to check to be sure you are replacing the correct part. Have checked the HV fuses..they are ok. I have also pulled the HV diode out and tried to check it based on a procedure i downloaded. I am using a Digital Fluke multimeter and get 168 ohms both ways. Is the diode bad? Would that keep the microwave from heating up? The diode does look cracked..

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 12/2/2007(UTC) Posts: 769		Diodes should only allow current to flow in one direction, so if you are measuring resistance in both directions, the diode is bad, and yes that will prevent the magnetron from operating.
