I was doing some laundry and went to swap a load into the dryer and noticed that when I hit the start button, all it would do was nothing. It said sensing and the timer would run so I turned everything off. I took the back cover off and checked the thermal fuse for continuity. Nothing. Ohms read out of limits on my fluke meter. So I went to the appliance place and paid an overpriced amount of $20 for a new one. Came home, installed it, started a load in the dryer and 15 min's later it popped again. So before I replace that I'm curious where to go from here. I have read a little bit about the thermostat and the other things that it might be. But I haven't been able to figure out how to test them. I don't know what readings I should be checking for. I pulled the thermistor and get nothing for continuity but I get a reading of 10.92 K/Ohms. I checked my heating coil, it's not grounded anywhere and it has continuity. Are the thermistor and thermostats my next bet? I dont' want to buy any parts without knowing (with my meter if possible) what's wrong.

There's another thermal fuse I believe that sits just above the heating coil that has 2 red wires coming to it, one red, one red/white stripe. Took it out, checked for continuity and it was good, and it read 0.1 Ohms. I don't know if that's good or not? If that's ok, where do I go from here?

The thermal over load opens/blows if it gets to hot.

Most of the time what I find is the dryer vent is restricted with lint build up and needs to be cleaned out.

I would also remove the blower housing and clean it as that is another place lint collects and builds up.

Just checked the area's in those 2 pictures and they were full of lent. Not nearly as bad as in those pics but I cleaned them out anyway. There's a connector (black) with 2 connectors going into to it, black wire and yellow wire with a red stripe. Is that some kind of heat temperature sending unit or sensor? I put my fluke meter on it and it read out of limits with no continuity. What is that thing? Btw, have to wait till tomorrow to get a new thermal fuse to see if everything is fixed.

Could be the moister sensor, not sure just what your looking at. Took a quick look at the tech sheet for your dryer.

Here is a copy of the tech sheet if you would like to take a look.
