Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 12/20/2011(UTC) Posts: 1		My dishwasher will fill with water but when the pump tries to come on, only a humming sound can be heard. The water will drain out so I guess the drain pump (if a separate pump) is working. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to make my wife happy and not have to wash the Christmas dishes!!

Whirlpool KD-12 Point Voyager Dishwasher Service Manual - ApplianceDigest.com You have to join the site to download the manual but it is free and this is a very good site for manuals and other info for the appliance repair DIYer. Unplug or shut power off to the unit and then try to turn the wash motor armature could be it is jammed. If it is open the pump up inside the tub and see if anything is jamming the impeller or the chopper. If the armature turns OK then odds are the motor is toast.
