Icemaker will not stop making ice. ice arm in empty, full, or stop position still keeps on making ice. I just now got off the phone with GE and no help unless I wish to purchase. 135.00...Noway has to be a simple switch. Any help would be appreciated.

There is a gear in the front of the ice maker that controls the functions that is most likely your problem, at least that was what was wrong with mine, I had to get a new icemaker

Thanks,, Yes I have taken Icemaker out of freezer and remove the outter cover and expose 1 small and 1 lg. gear. underneath are 3 switches and a thermostat. I'm figuring the the swithch called hold switch is the problem. But the problem is finding that switch by itself. It does sound crisp though but could still be bad.
