Kenmore Refrigerator no power to compressor or condenser fan, someone replaced the compressor start relay with a 'hard start' assembly, and had the run and start reversed, but compressor is still good and will run if you apply power directly to the compressor only. a schematic would sure help

Getting info from Kenmore is difficult The fridge is made by Whirlpool Here is tech sheet https://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%202255375.pdfNote I cannot guarantee that this is the correct one. Take a look under the unit behind the kick plate, they like hiding the wiring diagrams there. |

Thanks for the quick and accurate help. I did find the schematic there but mine was soaked with water before I found it. Now to find that thermostat ckt board . . . is that in the top of the refrig, with on/off and temp buttons ? ?

I found the power problem, some of the etch was burned off the ckt board, after that repair all runs as I would expect. after some run time I found the compressor hot and shutdown, after some cool down (about 2 hrs), but the compressor still quite warm, I restarted it, measured run current on the compressor line is 7 - 7.5 amps on one start it ran 10 - 12 amps but quickly shutdown, (actual start current is about 15 amps) even at 7 amps, that is too high ?right? Also the discharge line got very hot.
how can I determine if it has a restricted or plugged orifice, or a bad compressor ? any good compressor source ?
