Hi

Thank you for reading cry for help. I got the new latch assembly for the Maytag. I can see the latch assembly and were is go but how do I get to the old one to replace it? I unscrewed the four screws on the front but they are for the oven door hinges. O.K. what do I need to take apart to get to it? I have studied the diagram from Maytag but it does not show how to get to it. Any help or advise would be greatful.

O.K. this is for the poor soul got himself in the same problem I got myself into. This what you do:

Remove all the screws on the bottom of the control panel. Then remove the burner control nobs there screw behind there too. Do not forget to remove the side screws on the control panel. Then gentle pop out the control panel and there is the oven latch assembly. You will need an off set screw driver for this job. The rest you are on your own.
