I have a frigidaire front-load washer. The door lock switch had a plastic piece break off and I ordered your Door lock assembly - Front load door lock and switch assembly. The new part has and extra pair of blades to connct to and my harness does not match up. I have a two-wire blue-white on one bade that goes with a white. I have a black that goes with a black and red-striped wire, and I have a coupled dual red wire that goes with a whte that is bound together in a harness. Where do these wires go? The new part has what looks to be the "wax switch? possibly in the red-plastic at the top. There's a separate two prong area for th harness connctor. Then in the middle there are four prongs. The two outer prongs have a capacitor symbol and the two inner prongs have a resistor or "curly-cue"Symbol.
Thanks

I am not aware of any changes they made to that switch, so I am wondering if you got the wrong part.

Check with APP in the morning and get them to confirm that they sent you the right part. If so, let us know on this Forum and we will we can find out.

Here is a link to a service manual for your model

http://www.emaservicetips.com/p..._TumbleActionWashers.pdf

and there is a picture of your switch on page 37.

I purchased the part for my 1998 Frigidaire front load washer by entering the model number into your site. The old part does not come up and several other sites also confirm that this new part replaces the older ones and you need to purchase a new striker as well. Problem is that no one can tell me how to wire the new part with the old wiring configuration. Please help. The pdf you attached to this earlier post correctly identifies the part on the page cited but the new part has addition wiring slots that may mean I need to do a little rewiring for the new part. Frigidaire Gallery Front load washer. Manufactured 12/98. Model number 417.39012891. Please help me wire this correctly.

Your site list this part for that model number:
Door lock assembly - Front load door lock and switch assembly. For door striker order AP3580441.
Part Number: AP4455026 made by FRIGIDAIRE

Thank you

Boy I wish I could help but unless I had your exact model in front of me, which I don't, I don't know what to tell you. Those of us who reply on this site and volunteers and not connected with the APP parts operations.

I can only suggest you try and follow the wiring diagram which should have been with your model. Sorry not to be of more help

I'm going through the same experience with the wiring. I finally had to take the replacement switch apart to make sense of the component. The brown thing on the bottom is the wax motor and uses the same wiring that came off the wax motor of the OEM component (white wire and the double blue wire with white stripe). The door switch wires seem to have been relocated to the bottom pair of spade lugs in the middle set of 4 lugs on the new component. This is where the black wires marked DS1 and DS3 connect.
I'm still scratching my head where the PTC wires connect (double red plus white in a double connector). I suspect a jumper is going to be required to power the coil which closes another switch when the coil is powered. Stay tuned. I noticed the original posts are a few months old, so hopefully someone has found a solution or I suppose they are babying the old switch to get it to work. The issue seems to be the original solenoid coil in these units which degrade with age. I had the same issue with the solenoid coils in my matching gas dryer and replacing the coils made it good as new.
