I have a Maytag Washer Model # LAT2916AAE. My wife had been washing clothes all morning when all off a sudden it stopped in the just before the rinse cycle. So the washer was full of water (for a medium load). I tried to turn the timer past the rinse cycle to the spin cycle and pulled the knob and nothing happened. I drained the washer by pulling the drain pipe and lowered the end of the pipe to fill buckets. Once I drained the washer, I check to see if it was level and it was. I checked to see if the other spin cycles on the timer would work. The wife had said that she was mainly using the permanent press or delicate cycle of the washer. When it stopped, she was using the regular cycle. I tried the delicate cycle rinse and spin modes and at first it did not work. When I pulled the washer out to check the back, and tried again. It worked. It also worked on the permanent press cycle. When I pushed it back in. The only cycle that worked was the permanent press.
