Hey I've got one burner that doesn't work at all, and one that only goes on high, in addition to two that work fine. I've replaced all the receptacles and burners. I'm led to believe that the next thing to replace is the control, but how the heck do I get to that? They are in the hood, and the way to access them is far from apparent. Any help?

It's J P656 0V2AD. That is as read off the cooktop. I can't find anything on the hood, but as I say, that's where the controls are.

The model number you posted does not come up. Is it American model?

yes it is. It's pretty old though. Probably early 80's. I'll double check the number

That is correct. And the serial number is RP764907. It also says "use with JV 655" which I assume means the hood.

I 'm not able to find any on-line diagrams for this model because it's too old. Try to chat with Adam from the APP team. Hopefully he can help you better.

I am having a similar problem with a single burner circuit on the EXACT same model as you. I believe that there are some black screws holding the front plate where the control is mounted up inside. You can see them when you remove the metal air filters. That is what I'm going to try. I will post my experience and hopefully it will help you.

I found it!! The front panel is held on by 4 black phillips screws with BIG washers, up inside after you remove the metal filters. You will probably have to wiggle it a little, there are tabs holding the top edge. The screws for the control switch are behind the knob, accessible after pulling the knob off the post.

Thanks a TON!!! I will try that tonight. I've been letting the problem slide.
