Maytag LAT9316AAE top loader.spin cycle will not work.
Motor,belts,belt tension,pump,lid switch,agitate cycle all work.
I can't spin the tub or transmission by hand.
I removed break assembly, and tub spins fine by hand.
With the break assembly off,I put pulley, bottom keeper, belts on.
The motor will not spin the tub.should it spin with out break on machine?
Any help would be great.

Hi,

What if you pull back on the motor a bit during the spin cycle will it spin the tub then?

I pushed the motor out, more tension on belt,YES the drum started to turn.
Does this prove it's a bad break assembly?
