Hi
Just recently developed problem....the dryer seems to only operate on the low heat setting. I Blew out the Venting and it is un-restricted. I have in the past and do now have a flexible 4" vent attached to the back into the house vent which is also clear. Interestingly enough, when Ive pulled the back cover off the unit and moved the dryer away from the wall, the dryer does seem to cycle on and off on the high heat setting(although the cycling does seem too often). Once I put the back cover on again, the high heat may cycle once then stays cool with no further heat. HELP? Could it be a thermostat? the Burner? Just to add, its a Gas dryer and when I have the back panel off, I can see the ignitor cycle on and off.....

Additional info....the more I explore this WEB site the more I learn...My Signature Gas Dryer(#SGDS800MQ0) apparently does not have Gas Coils..which appeared to me, might be the problem. I see have other parts that maybe suspect....Ill look forward to your reply. Thank You

1. Did you check the blower and the blower housing? You should find a lot of lint there.

2. There are the gas coils in your dryer as you can see on the diagram and it could be the problem.

Thanks Gene
Dont know how I missed those coils as I did look over the diagram yesterday.....was there a way of testing the coils before ordering? I have checked and rechecked the venting and the blower assembly for lint. Thanks again
Dwight

PS
I did notice a Gas Coil Kit for Whirlpool gas dryers(item# AP3094251)..it says New Style Coils....would these new style coils fit my dryer? Thank you

Thank You very Much Gene......the new coils arrived in only two days using snail mail and I put the coils in the same night. All is well and operating like New......Thanks again for all your help and this very informative forum.

P.S.
I did notice "nipples" on my old coils but dont honestly remember noticing them on the new ones...just wondering if those plastic nipples are for alignment? No matter....everything is working Fine.

You are welcome. I'm glad you were able to fix it.

Gene.
P.S. You were right about those "nipples". There are two holes in the top bracket for them.
