I am unable to start the oven. Most of the controls work, but not all. I would like to test the switches on the control panel to see if they are functional. I have removed this panel and checked switch operation with an ohm meter, but without an accurate wiring diagram, I can not confirm the failure source. This is the same wiring as 3 other models starting with GW395LEP. Can anyone provide a wiring diagram or a source for one? Please, Ron

Check part # 26, on picture # 6 on your breakdown, that could very well be the problem, especially if the problem occured after you put the oven in a clean cycle. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Thank you for your suggestion, but part #26, on picture#6 for my oven is a cover-rear. The "start" button does not seem to be working on the control panel. When the clock button is pushed; the start? light comes on in a few seconds, but pushing "start" does not change anything. Pushing "cancel" clears the start? light. Ron

I appologize I meant #23. But with your added info, it sounds like a control board or a touch pad issue. I guess no code is coming up? Tom ApplianceEducator.com

No codes are showing up; that is why I am looking for the wires on the ribbon connector that correspond to the touch pad switches so I can check their operation. Ron

Hi Ron, Here are the tech sheets for this range with the wiring diagram, but I do not think it'll help you to test the control panel. As Tom said, the problem most likely is a bad control panel. Gene.

Thank you both, Tom and Gene. The tech sheets gave me the failure/error code: E1 -F2- The "membrane tail" is seated in the connector on back of control and failure code remains: so, "replace control". The membrane switches, or "touch pad", to the connector pins, or "membrane tail" , is what I was trying to check; but even the tech sheets do not provide this detail. So how do you determine which is bad: the touch pad or the control board ? Buy it and try it? Ron

In one of your posts you said: "No codes are showing up...", but later you referred to "E1-F2" error code. I'm confused.

Gene, The tech sheets that you provided showed me how to get the error code by holding the off/cancel button for 5 seconds - "Hidden Functions". Top of page 2 under "Hidden EOC Functions" The error code wasn't showing previously. Ron

Ron, There is a 65/35 chance for the control panel and the control board to fail. I would replace the control panel first. Both parts are expensive, but Whirlpool did not supply us with any better instructions. Here are the break down diagrams and parts list for the Whirlpool range Model GW395LEPB00Gene.
