My Whirlpool DU920QWDB DW stopped working (no status lights) and I am trying to check the thermal fuse and door switch. From research on this site, I understand that the inside door cover should lift out once the torx screws have been removed. I have removed the torx screws and the panel is still not free. Seems held in the center near the bottom of the control panel. Is there any mechanism that could be engaged as the DW had water in the bottom as though it had died during the rinse cycle. I am hesitant to pull really hard for fear I may break something. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I think on this model there is one hidden screw that is under the colored door panel front.
You will need to remove the colored door panel to access the screw.
I think to remove the colored door panel you need to pull the plastic strip off that is on the very bottom of the colored panel. The you will be able to flex the colored panel enough from the bottom edge to work it out from the frame.
Hope that make sense and helps.

Well, that single hidden screw behind the front color panel allowed me to remove the inside panel and to replace the thermal fuse. After breathing new life into a 15 year old DW, I'm looking for an inexpensive way to repair or replace a broken push button membrane on the front console.
I looked up the part on this website (Insert, Console PN AP3044530) and it lists it as "Not Available". Any additional information on this part or ideas on how to repair? Thanks.
By the way, I ordered the thermal fuse from Appliance Parts Pro at 2 pm on Thursday and FEDEX delivered about 3 pm the next day. I could have bought it cheaper elsewhere, but keeping the wife happy is well worth the little extra!

Glad you found that screw. :)
