This is the second time our door has come crashing down due to links breaking, the last time parts were cheap and repair costly, but the job didn't appear too difficult. Is it? And what do you need to do to get the washer out from under the counter to get at the part to replace. thanks

Hi,

That's a easy job. If you open the door and look up under the kitchen countertop you will see two screws that mount the dishwasher in place. Remove them two screws and close the dishwasher door.

Now if the drain hose, water inlet line and electrical cord are long enough and they often are just pull the dishwasher out about a foot so you can get to the balance links on the sides.

Make sure you replace both links at the same time even if just one is broken.
