This dishwasher always worked good untill recently, many dishes weren't cleaned at all and debris was stuck onto everything - making pre-rinsed items on top rack dirtier in the end. I figured the spray arms must not be turning, so I tested it with the door partially open. As I guessed, it looks like low flow, the top wash arm (below the top rack) as well as the bottom arm squirt, but not very hard, not enough to spin (and not enough to get me as wet as they should have if everything worked right, heh). So I followed the basic advices on here, checked the check valve - surprisingly clean and looked functional as far as I could tell. The grinder screen was pretty clean and the blade looked fine. There were a few pieces of plastic and glass in the corners of the grinder area, so I thought cleaning them out would fix things up, but it didn't change a thing. Also checked the water level, I think its good. Just in case I tried adding more water with a bucket and ran it some more, wash arms still didn't spin so I don't think thats the problem. I know my answer is probably going to be "needs a new motor" but I really don't want to believe thats the problem since it was working before. The fine screen on top of the motor looks kinda grimy on the inside, and one of the screens has a hole in it, so I was wondering if maybe that let in food over time, gunked things up, and maybe that gunk could restrict the pressure enough to hold back the pump? (I figure that the water that circulates goes through that screen right? maybe I don't really know how these things work, let me know). If thats a possibility I'd rather replace the $40 screen unit than replace the motor, I think... My only other idea was that pressure might be getting lost somewhere. The lower wash arm seems kind of loose (wobbly) but the plastic bearing/washer/nut all seem to be good and installed right so I dunno.
Any thing else I can check for this particular washer or am I screwed?

Try running a cycle with Dishwasher Magic (No dishes with this).
