The problem I am having is that my Kenmore refrigerator does not get cold at all. I replaced the relay with a 3 n1 start 1/4 1/3 hp(rc0410). It ran for about an hour then stopped working altogether. A repair man came out and said that my compressor is not working correctly and should be replaced. He also said that the 3 n 1 relay was too strong for my model refrigerator. How can I be sure if the compressor is the problem? Don't want to buy a new compressor and I don't really need one? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem, freezer and refrigerator are both warm inside. I'm researching to see what the problem is and how it can befixed.

trustingod65,
The 3-in-1 start booster can be used on refrigerators with 134-A Freon for test purpose only due to possible compressor damage.
If there is proper power to the compressor with the new start relay and the compressor is not working properly then there is nothing else but the compressor.

Nakia333,
What is the complete model number of the refrigerator? Can you be more specific on the problem?

Gene. Thanks for the information Gene. The compressor started working the other day but it is not geeting cold enough to freeze water. So, I guess it is not working properly. Is it worth it to fix the compressor or should I just purchase a new refrigerator?

The right answer should be based on: a) cost of repair and length of the repair warranty vs price for the new refrigerator and b) age and condition of the refrigerator.
