I need to replace the timer in my washing machine. How do I remove the front timer knob? the other knobs on the front just pull off but this one will not.

I figured it out. You first remove the plate (cover) on the knob with a screwdriver (bring careful not to scratch or damage the cover) then remove the sliding pin holding it in place. The place or cover is just like the one on a faucet.
