in my case the thermal fuse was dead (should read few k ohms) if greater than 20-30 kOhm, replace it

NO, there are two sensors, one yellow and top of evaporator, the other one is attached to the side in a white covering (thermal Fuse is the second one). on the repair web site is listed as "THERMAL FUS" dont know the number.

anyway both sensors should show conectivity at room temp abot 5-10 k ohm. if both OK, then it could be the board.

you need to replace "if" it was faulty. Unfortunatly, i dont know about error codes. I would let it work a wwk and then check for the ice. then may be the board (hopefully someone knows about that code)

I was hoping to get some help in finding the repair or service manual for my fridge.. It is a Samsung RS275ACWP

I would like to figure out how to get this unit into diagnostic mode and also force defrost to make sure that part of the freezer is working correctly.

Have any of you ever seen or heard of melting or deformed plastic at the bottom of the freezer near the heating element?

Hi all, I know this thread is pretty old, but I am hoping that someone will happen by and lend some help.

I've read through this thread as well as dozens of other sites and repair experiences on the internet. My Samsung RS2545SH refrigerator is freezing perfectly well on the freezer side but the fridge side is not working.

After all the reading I mentioned, I have done the following:

1. Used the self-diagnostic feature of the fridge. It returned error #7, "R Defrost Error". Does that tell anyone specifically what the problem is? I am unable to find a service manual anywhere online at this point (none of the links in this thread work).

2. Tested the blue temp sensor and found it to read 5.04 kOhms (part AP4136948). According to the temp chart I found here, that seems to be reasonable, as it would put my house temp around 76 or so. I have concluded this part to be functioning as expected.

3. Tested the yellow temp sensor that is part of the evaporator assembly (part AP4136842). This part also gave a resistance of 5.04 kOhms. I have concluded this part is functioning as expected.

4. Tested the thermal fuse that is part of the evaporator assembly (part AP4136048). When I did a continuity test using the lowest setting on my meter (200 Ohms) it read 0.09. Based on what I have read, this means the unit has continuity. Does that therefore mean this part is working? I am not certain.

If the three items above are working, does this mean that I should proceed to the next step recommended by the masses, which is to replace the defrost heater (and since this piece does not come separately, I have read several descriptions of how to disentangle it from the assembly and replace the old with a new so as to avoid having to deal with the freon in the evaporator assembly - an example is found in the repair advice section here).

Have I gone wrong anywhere? Advice is appreciated :)
