Hello to all,
I have a gas dryer that stopped working in automatic. It runs in timer mode, but even then takes forever to dry. So I studied the prints, bought a new operating thermostat, still not running in auto. ( I also opend cleaned everything cked vent ect.)
Gas valve coils ohm'ed out to spec, but I read that they sometimes heat up and break down, so another trip to the store, new valve coils. Dryer now heats real well, but still fails to run in automatic.
One funkey thing, origional operting t stat had 7500 ohm heater, new one measures 75 ohms, clearly VERY different. so I tested both old and new t stats over stove w/ thermometer and meter, both snapped open at about 180, (could be off on the # as I only had 2 hands, but both were similar.
SO I assumed old operating t stat was ok, reinstalled, still same thing, timer failed to advance in auto, so I disassembled timer, cleaned all contact, all looked well, but still no run in auto.
All help appreciated! My wife is starting to lose faith!
