I have an older Maytag Neptune front load washer that has recently stopped spinning during the spin cycle. It will wash the cloths a usual and pump out all the excess water but during the spin cycle, on any setting, all the unit will do is agitate back and forth at low speed.
Thinking that the motor was going I saw on another thread that if I disconnected the P4 harness connection at the motor control unit and plug in the washer. This is supposed to run a check on the motor and run the motor on the spin cycle at 50 rpm. I did this and the motor spun continuously at 50 rpm. I guess the motor is ok. Does anyone have any other ideas?
Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

If you have the original wax motors in the door lock assembly they can cause the main control unit to fail. Check it out. If it is ok the motor control unit may be the problem.

Thanks very much sidfink43! As per your suggestion I checked the wax motor and it was defective. When I replaced that everything worked fine again. You saved me the purchase of a new machine.
