The leak was pretty bad but I wasn't able to determine where it was coming from. It isn't the drain, water inlets or the front seal (at least the seal is in place and undamaged). The unit is less than 4 years old and has not been abused or heavily used. When I removed the front lower access panel to investigate the leak, I discovered the right shock is broken at the top mount. What I want to figure out - before ordering the shocks, is whether the bearing is o.k. and if the the spider is broken, or anything else major. The drum turns fine by hand. What else and how do I check bearing etc before I order the shocks.
Thanks in advance

If the bearing is bad it will sound like a 747 getting ready for takeoff. The rear tub bearings do go bad on these models, but the newer ones are better made and it is not likely it has gone bad already.
I think it is a good risk to replace the shock, fix the leak and see what happens.

O.K., so I ordered the shocks and have replaced them, and after further investigation, the leak seems to have come out through the front door. The rubber seal is still o.k. and in place. So, questions are : 1.is it possible that it leaked because the tub was moving around too much because of the broken shock? 2. How do I test it without risking it leaking all over again?
Thanks

I have not seen that problem leaking with a busted shock, but there is a lot I haven't seen so that doesn't mean it can't happen.
If the seal is good, check all the hoses and if they are not leaking go ahead and run it. It shouldn't leak.
