My Kenmore Elite will only complete a cycle properly if you start at the beginning of the standard (ultraclean) cycle. If you start at a shorter time it will not completely drain. The timer will finish in the off position. Starting at any point on the permanent press cycle will produce the same results of water remaining in the tub but the timer finishing in the off position. Any ideas?

it sounds like a bad timer to me. the contact on the inside could be worn. sometimes we tend to you the same cycle all the time, and the contacts wear. tom applianceeducator.com - parts

Thanks, I was about to order a timer before I posted my original message. Was looking for other possibilities. Probably the timer. Jeff

When I look up the part on this site it states that it requires special assistance. Another site says it is "not a service part". Any ideas why a timer wouldn't be a simple replacement part? J
