I recently installed a brand new whirlpool dishwasher. while pushing it into place, the drain hose or water line knocked the blue and yellow wires going into the capacitor out. are these interchangeable. I tried these wires both ways and it worked both times, but i don't want to burn something out due to reverse polarity or something like that. thanks

It does not make any difference. You can connect them any way.
