I have a Hotpoint frig. Model #: HSM25GFRESA. For the past 4-5 months there has been an intermittent howling noise coming from the freezer. The pitch varies and it only happens roughly %50 of the time. I suspect the evaporator fan motor. I believe I should check/replace the controller board also. My question is:
Is the test for my refrigerator model the same as the GS PS tests described in "GE refrigerators (GS* & PS* models), the evaporator fan motor test and replacement"

Thank You

I would replace the motherboard in the back AP4436216. Your evaporator motor is just responding to a distorted square wave from the motherboard
