The drainage tube from the freezer to a tray at the bottom of the fridge keeps freezing up and then when the freezer defrosts all the water leaks into the fridge. It is happening at increasingly shorter intervals. You can pour hot water into the system and wait for it to melt the ice and then it drains again for a few weeks but is soon blocked again. I have had 3 repair guys look at it but noone has had any suggestions that are helpful or indeed knew what might be happening. Someone else suggested the defrost fan may not be working. Any thoughts?

One thing that works is use a piece of a wire hanger or other thin wire, make a hook in one end and straighten a long piece to go into the drain tube. Place the hook part over the defrost heater. Don't let the wire into the tube from touching the sides it could melt a hole in the drain tube.
This is a trick our Whirlpool Rep told us about a long time ago.
