Hi, I replaced both the magnetron and the diode and still no heat. The bad smell went away and the sound is the same as before the microwave had problems. Do you have any idea on what the problem could be?

Scott,

Check the resistance of all high voltage transformer windings and compare it to the Wiring diagram. If any of the reading is wrong then the transformer has to be replaced.

If there is nothing wrong then remove the wires from the transformer primary windings and check for 120VAC between these wires while the control calls for heat and the door is closed.

Post the results.
