machowski,

Does the ice maker release ice cubes into the ice bin?

Did you hear any noise when you pushed the ice release lever on the dispenser?

What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?

Gene.

virgilio,

Check the water feeding tube into the ice maker for a clog and/or frost. If there is a green LED on the ice maker does it blink or it stays "on"?

Hi Gene. I was wondering about the outcome of this question. I have a similar issue. GE, side-by-side fridge, model #GSH25JSTA SS. The icemaker does not make ice. Water dispenser is fine. I changed the filter, but that didn't do it. Green light just blinks. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Vincenzo

If the ice maker green LED light blinks then the ice maker is bad and has to be replaced.

- The part number for the ice maker is AP4345120

Here are the break down diagrams for the GE refrigerator Model GSH25JSTASS

Thanks Gene.

Is this part fairly easy to install? Or would I be best served to call a GE service tech?

This part is very simple to replace. Remove the ice bin. Remove the top shelf and the two screws holding the ice maker. Unplug the wire harness and install the new one in the reversed order. I believe the new ice maker comes with the instructions.

Gene, you're not going to believe it, but I ordered the part -- then plugged the refrigerator back in (because I had the idea that maybe the line to the icemaker was frozen, so I'd been letting it thaw for several hours). A half hour later, I hear ice dropping into the tray. Murphy's Law.

I'm not sure if thawing solved it, but the light is no longer blinking and I've got ice. I put the ordered part on "hold" and I'll see if the icemaker continues without issue.

Thought you might like to know about it. Blinking green light isn't necessarily fatal (knocks on wooden desk). I'll be sure to let you know if this changes.

Thanks again for the help.
