Unable to remove bottom panel Kenmore Elite Dryer

I bought the dryer 6 yrs ago...replaced the brains 3 yrs ago...now I have not heat...bought a new heat coil and can't get the bottom panel off...I've pushed it up and down and used a long screwdriver to release the sides...NOTHING...please help! It's been weeks!

Here is the trick. Get a putty knife, and on the top part of the bottom panel, about 5 inches in on the left side is a clip. Push the putty knife inside the clip, and it will release the front on that side. Do the same on the other side. Also when you replace the element, there is a 1/4 inch screw between the two element terminal, that also holds the element in place. When you pull the old element out, hold on to the tube that the elemnt slides into with the other hand. Use a pliers to pull the old one out. It is hard sometimes to pull out. Tom

Tom..absolutely perfect!!! Thank you...Now the old coil doesn't want to come out...I see a clamp on the right half way back...how do you suggest I get back there to pinch it?

I usually grab the metal part with a pliers, and be sure you take out the 1/4 inch screw out in between the the two element terminals. Pull hard, and you will have it. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

unfortunately, with all of the pliers we have and basically destroying the ceramic coil holders, I have not found a device that has the length and angle to pinch that clip. I'll just have to keep trying and destroying. Thank you for all your help. Aside from you handing me pliers or telling me a style that I actually need, I just need to keep trying.
