We just noticed the lights on the gadgets are not working and all refrigeration is shut down. Only the interior lights are working. Have already tried pushing on the colder temp button. Nothing is working. Need help. Things are starting to thaw. Thanks to whoever is out there who can help.

It sounds like the mother board in the rear is the problem. Tom

Remove the board and check the back for a bad solder joint on one of the relays, if so, you just need to resolder it.

Mr. Chowland, I hope you are a good solderer. I would hate to solder the wrong connection together for a $95.00 board, on a $1200 refrigerator. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

I never on this forum assume the person is incompetent at soldering, or simple repairs. If he was, he/she would not be seeking to do it themselves. The relay ribbon layout on these boards is wide enough for a simple soldering job, unlike other sections of the board. Negative attitudes like this have no place on this forum and I am sure administration is in agreement. If he/she messes up the board, the worst thing would be a malfunctioning board and it's failure would not blow out other components.

There you are again, jumping up on your high horse!!!! My point is, sometimes saving money, cost more money. In the field, which I am sure you must be a service man running calls everyday, realize, putting in the new board, is a good piece of mind for the customer, and the product. I would feel more comfortable with a new board, and $250.00 worth of food in the refrigerator, then a soldering job. Also what is the BS about the administrator? I have helped more people on this Forum, then you can shake a stick at. I never mentioned the incompetance of people here. Take a back seat, and mind your own business. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

I will monitor your responses on this forum. If I feel you are still a "problem" I will advise you be banned from this forum. The administration has the last word/action on this matter.

You really crack me up!!!! LOL!!! As an engineer, you hate the fact, that the mortal service man, good possibly have the upper end on you. Don't feel bad, I have a Masters in Business in Administration, and a minor in Marketing, and I graduating from NYU. I also trained the Maytag repaiman for quite a few years. I have been in this business successfully for thirty years. Hopefully that will help you with your feelings. Dude, you must chill out!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trust me, your world will not come to an end, because someone might know more then you do. We here are all helping the people that come to this website. This is a people forum, not a better then you forum. The administrator must see all the help I give to the people. Go back, and look at my posts, to see, all the people that thank me for my help. You must relax. This is not what we need to show the people that come to this forum. They are all searching for help, and advise from profesionals. Please conduct yourself in that manner. I personally cannot play your game of using the adminstrator as a weapon. Please come to grips with your feelings, and answer those that you can help. Sincerly Tom Applianceeducator.com

The "problem" I have with you is you have provided repair info that steers the person to an expensive repair that might be repairable at less cost. The administration and I agree that this is not in the best interest of the customer.

CHILDREN PLAY NICE!!! Please
chowland just wants to fix a fridge and not get involved in a feud. The more info we can give the better off they will be, knowledge is power Power to the people
Would it not be a better idea to put this type of trash in the TechTalk section. At least then it is somewhat private.
We are all here just to help a few people learn something and save a few dollars. Scrapping in public does not help anyone's credibility.
So kiss and make up. Please |
