Thank you for answering my post, we are in need of advice and help.

We are a very new very small appliance company doing good repairs and having luck with our new business (husband-tech and I-office mngr).

He has replaced household fridge compressors in class with Whirlpool, some larger compressor replacements for a local pizza shops walk in cooler and done some AC compressor work, never any problems always gets job completed.

He has an Amana S/S Fridge Model # ARS2664BW Serial # 0107185552

New Compressor Part #8201558 from DEY Dist.
{Manufacturers/Whirlpools part #AP3179962}

PROBLEM: We have a compressor replacement problem, the compressor that we have received is different than the one he is taking off.

This is different for him, and its for our pastor with whom we'd like to do a good job.

THE DEAL: When the he took off the old compressor and looked at the replacement compressor he noticed that the new one (# above) has 4 tubes, one which would go to an oil cooling system which this frig doesn't have, the old compressor he took out only has 3 tubes no oil cooling. He spoke with the part counter and they said that IS the compressor Whirlpool says to put in as a replacement.
What exactly should be done to get this compressor in, should he ignore the 4th line and seal it up?
Add oil don't add oil? add a compressor oil cooling line?
Get a different compressor ignoring the one Whirlpool and Dey say to put in?
What would you do given the 2 different compressors?
Is there a different compressor he should use? if so how do we find the part #?

I hope you have experienced this sort of replacement or problem before. We are a 2 person company so far, me (office manager) and my husband (tech).

Our parts distributor couldn't give us much help in the way of letting us know why or what can be done with these 2 different types of compressors. I researched online and found the same replacement compressor for that model #, so it must be the one, he just needs to know the trick in getting it converted for this fridge.

Thank you so much for the help, if my questions don't make sense then I can have Bobby (the tech) reply to you and give you the breakdown of what is going on. I am trying to get the ball rolling for him and am hoping you will instantly know what I am talking about, if not that is fine too, I will get him in office to reply to you immediately!

Thanks

I've come across this before too, the replacement is for different models which includes some units that utilize the oil cooler... Just disregard the bottom tube connections, oil from the compressor body does not physically travel thru these tubes... They are isolated from the refrigerant system...
