After cooking in the oven at 300 degrees for about an hour, a flame shot up from behind the stove, but quickly dissipated. This has happened twice in the last week, but is certainly intermittent. Would this be likely the igniter or the temp sensor? The gas company checked it out and says there are no leaks. Thanks in advance.

It would be the ignitor, because, it is not glowing bright enough to send the amperage back to the valve to open it up all the way. So basically the oven fills with gas, and then lights. Whoosh, could lead to blowing the door open. Replace the ignitor. Tom
