Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 1/17/2009(UTC) Posts: 3		The ice in the ice maker melts and drips into the freezer compartment where it freezes. Also, the temperatures vary wildly in both the freezer and refridgerato compartments. My fridge is not that old. Is this a mother board problem, a fan problem or what? What parts should I check, and how?

Then check to see if the fan in the back of the freezer is running. Also look on the rear panel in the back of the freezer for frost or ice buildup. Nat

In fact the freezer will get cold again but for some reason it gets warm enough for long enough that the ice melts and then freezes again on the items in the freezer. Strange. I think the defrost cycle is staying on for too long. Linonj

I bought it from appliancepartspros.com. Very good to deal with. WR49X10152 was the replacement part for the one listed on the back of the fridge.

I have the EXACT issue with mine. If I leave Ice maker off all is well. When I put icemaker back on - it will be ok for 2-3 days, then it seems like it gets stuck on heat cycle when making ice and it then melts the ice cubes and/or softens stuff on the top shelf. Motherboard was the cure then?

Motherboard was the cure then? Update - Does not seem to matter if my ice maker on or off. Temps fluctuate. I ordered the MB and will replace it today/tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed....
