Hi there and thank you for your time. I have an Amana LEA60AW. I recently purchased the: #6 Dryer Thermal Fuse #8 High Limit Thermostat ( Rear bulkhead, felt seal & rollers replacement parts for AMANA LEA60AW DRYER- ELE | AppliancePartsPros.com ) and #24 Thermostat ( Motor and fan assemblies replacement parts for AMANA LEA60AW DRYER- ELE | AppliancePartsPros.com ) The thermostats I had no problem finding and replacing. I pulled off one wire at a time, connecting to the new part before switching the next wire over and bolted those up. But I couldn't find where the Thermal Fuse was supposed to go. Then I realized that this being a used dryer, someone had likely done repairs to it and bypassed the fuse. The more I thought about it the more sure I am. Unfortunately, I'm unable to figure out how the wires should be connected, and don't want to guess on that. I've seen a wiring diagram but am not an electrical engineer. I can see where the fuse should bolt on, but I'm hoping someone can look at this image and tell me how the wires should be connected. Again, thanks for your time. p lacer8 attached the following image(s):

Here is how it should be hooked up Black wire Heating coil connector B Heating coil Heating coil connector A, also has the blue wire Black jumper wire Hi-limit connector A Hi-limit thermostat High limit connector B Jumper wire. This is missing. Thermal fuse connector A Thermal fuse. This is missing Thermal fuse connector B Orange wire
You will have to make up or purchase a jumper wire to connect the hi-limit thermostat to the thermal fuse. If you make one be sure to get high current connectors.
You could try calling AppliancePartsPros perhaps they will have one.
I think AP4290706 will do but am ot sure about this. It looks about 6 inches long but I am not sure about the connectors. |
