I have a Kenmore range I have determined that it was built in august of 2002 by Whirlpool. The Oven stopped working two days before thanksgiving. I had Sears repair man come out and look at it in December he determined that the DSI (direct spark module) went out on it. So to save some cash I decided to fix it my self I just got the part in and it still will not light. I hear the click of the board and then the two spark clicks but, not whoosh of starting any suggestions please. I really want my oven to work I'm sick of trying to plane meal around it.

I checked the valve/regulator it is the broil but, mine says (not field repairable) what does that mean? An the ends were rivetes to the regulator so I had to meter in place.

If the reading of the Broil solenoid is incorrect then the gas valve/regulator has to be replaced. "Not field repairable" means you can not repair this part but you do can replace it.

I have a kenmore oven range as well and have replaced the ignitor, the oven would work before but you had to hit the back of the oven near the valve. the ignitor comes on but it wont light. And once it does light after hitting it a couple times if the temp rises and it goes out it wont come on again. Could the valve be bad.

When did you replace the igniter? If the continuity test shows it's open then the igniter is bad. - The part number for the oven igniter is AP2150412Gene.
