I have been having issues with my control panel on this dishwasher for the last couple months. Some of the lights would not light up; Normal cycle, clean, wash lights. The last couple days it would take quite a few presses of the start button for it to start up. When I press the start button, the Heated Dry light comes on very dim. I pulled the door apart and removed and re-inserted the ribbon for the control panel with no change. I'm going to check continuity of the buttons/lights tomorrow as I don't have my multi-meter at home.

I was just wondering if anyone has come across this issue before. I'm thinking it's just a control pad issue, but I guess it could be the control board...

I am taking my control panel into work today to test the circuits. I did notice at the base of the ribbon going into the control panel there are a few burn marks. One large one happens to be between pins 5 and 6 which effects the start button according to the wiring diagram on the machine.

So the control panel was the issue (the one with the buttons on it). My inner door was attached with torx screws and then the control pad was attached to the door with 1/4" hex head screws. If you are going to take yours apart, where the ribbon goes into the control board, there is a clip around the socket that holds the ribbon in place. Just grab either side of the socket and pull away from the board (like you are going to slide something down the ribbon). Then it will come out with ease.
When I tested the circuits on for the buttons, they were supposed to have 10,000 ohms when depressed. Mine had over 33,000,000 ohms... So it was pretty easy to rule on the control pad.
