About 6 weeks ago I noticed that my diswasher did not cycle properly. The timie would tick down in the little window but the washer was not getting the message to fill, slosh, drain, empty soap dispenser, etc. So I was left with dirty wet dishes. The dishwasher is three years old and olny used twiice a week. I went to an on-line chat and was told that I needed a new board. Connected to your site and ordered one. The first new board arrived about a week ago. I installed it and the same problem prevailed. The PF (power failure) message kept coming up and the washer did not cycle.. The washer did not cycle. I called and a new board was sent to me. Yesterday we installed the second new board and the PF appeared in every cycle within two minutes. Something is telling the board to shut off. The only other part I can see in the dishwasher is the little board under the touch pad. Any ideas on where to look next? I now have one original and two new board and a dishwasher that still does not work! Please help. Your phone personnel are super and your company is great to work with. More than fair. Please help me complete this repair. Thanks, Jan

Thanks, Jan Grammie, A couple of things to check : The "PF" error code indicates a voltage drop of more than 10% , You need to check the power supply connection in the junction box,on the front frame of the dishwasher, make sure the wires aren't damaged or discolored and the wiring nuts and connections are tight and proper. Check and make sure the wires to the water inlet valve are installed and attached properly, and there is plenty of water to the valve. It sounds like you may have a fill issue and not getting enough water in the tub. We'll need to get to the pump motor and sump, to see if we have a problem with a jammed impeller or bad motor winding, once you've got these checks made. :) :) :)

We did check all the wires to the power supply and they are all good. Where do we check on the wires to the water supply. You don't think there is anything wrong with the other board- the one behind the push buttons? Thanks, Grammie

Is the least likeliest issue, at this point. It basically tells the control board what cycle you've selected and what to do. Also, its a low voltage system and usually would not cause a "PF" code. Your water inlet valve, float switch and float are located on the left side of the lower frame assembly and the float is in the left front corner of the inner tub. Part number: AP4321824
Part number: AP4982393
The concern with these components, your dishwasher may not be filling properly. There should be a couple of gallons of water in the bottom of the tub, in a couple of minutes. It didn't sound like you had that much water. Based on the timing chart for your dishwasher, when you start a cycle, approximately two minutes into the cycle, the motor should start to run and wash the dishes. Part number: AP5272389
If there is an internal failure in the motor, or if there is an obstruction in the sump or impeller, that could cause an overload on the system and create the "PF" code. Hope this is a bit more helpful. :) :) :)
