Just bought new dual surface switch. Old part no. was 318078200. New part no. is 903057-9010.
Wiring configuration is completely different between the old switch and new switch and diagram isn't very helpful (doesn't even mention wire colors).
Does anyone have more specific details on how to wire the new switch? Thanks.

Hi mrsdrjones
The installation instructions and diagrams supplied with the new part based on the terminal numbers not on wires color because it was designed for a few different models.
Locate the L1 terminal on the old switch and on the new one and move it one wire at a time.

Just to make sure I understand... will the wires be marked or am I just comparing the markings on the switches themselves? Thanks.

I do not think it's going to be any marks on the wires.
You should go by the marks on the switches.

One problem, the diagram of the "old switch" sent with the instructions does match what is actually on the true old switch. For example, the diagram has a number (5) in the upper left hand corner. The old switch has no (5). It has a (1) in the in the upper left hand corner. The diagram has no (1).

We finally figured it out. Took two of us about two hours to do it.
Thanks for your input!
P.S. Just my two cents on this, but these universal parts are horrible. The quality is nothing like the original, the instructions are bare bones.

The new switch should come with the installation instructions. If it did not then call people who sold it to you and they must take care of it.
