Good morning,

I think this refrigerator (Amana ARB2117AW, or PARB2117AW1) is probably over 10 years. We bought the home in 2004 and it was in the home then, so it is at least 7 years old.

The frigerator does not seem to be cooling, but freezer is cold (and has lots of frost covering interior, if that matters).

The cool setting on the fridge is turned all the way to max.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like two possibilities :

The freezer drawer is not closing and sealing properly.

Use a piece of paper, insert the paper between the door seal and the cabinet flange, close the door on the paper, and pull out on the paper, there should be a slight resistance when you pull, all the way around the drawer.

You have a defrost issue,

You will need to remove everything in the freezer, and the drawer, remove the back panel of the freezer compartment and check the defrost thermostat and defrost heater for closed circuits with a multimeter, and de ice the evaporator coils with a hair dryer or hot water. If the heatr and thermostat check properly, you'd need to replace the defost timer.
