Me and my brother had crossed the wires while hooking it back up. The wiring diagram shows that it is 3 k ohm resistor, but not what type or what kind of watt (1/4,1/8,1/2,...) i need.

So if we use 240 volts across 31 K ohms (3 + 28) it works out to 1.9 watts so I would use at a 2 watt or better resistor.
