I would like to check the motor on my dryer and replace it myself if necessary. I wanted to access the motor before I order it. I do not see an access panel in the rear or on the sides? What is the correct way to access the motor assembly and belt? Should I also change the belt while I'm replacing the motor, at the same time? Thanks for your help.

Open the door and remove the screws holding the top panel from the door frame. Lift the top panel and remove the screw on each side holding the front panel. Remove the front panel. Remove the access panel on the back to get access to the belt and idler pulley. Draw a picture of the belt rolling over the idler and motor pulleys before removing the belt. Remove the belt. Remove the drum. Check the belt, the front drum bearing, glides and the rear drum bearing. Here are the break down diagrams for the GE dryer Model DBXR463GB0CC, similar to yours. Gene.
