My Maytag gas dryer starts to heat up but then cuts off. The glow coil seems to be working and I get a good blue flame but it only lasts 30 seconds or so. Could it be a bad limit switch?

It could be a a clogged vent. Check the air flow to the outside. If the air flow is good, here is what I want you to check. When the dryer comes on for the first round of gas, when it cycles off, will it light the second time? If so, you most likely have a clogged vent, if not, replace the coils on the gas valve. Tom

The dryer and vent is now spotless inside and out. The burner stays on for about five minutes but will not re-light for quite some time. Originally Posted by: kayakcrzy It could be a a clogged vent. I agree with Tom. Most likely the problem is a bad coil on the gas valve. - The part number for the coil kit is AP3094251Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag dryer Model LDG4914AAEGene.

And again I agree with Tom. We are glad you were able to fix it even with not very accurate advises.
Gene.
