My icemaker did not make ice for a few days - and then the water going to it would not shut off even when you turned the icemaker to the off position on the side- the repairman said it is probably (probably) the module - the module wheel did have a black burnt looking spot - does this sound right thank you

Slide the ice maker out but do not disconnect the wire harness and do not turn it "off". Tape the flapper on the left side of the freezer to let the infrared light go from the emitter to the receiver.
Remove the ice maker front cover. Short the "T" & "H" test points, using an insulated piece of wire (14 GA) to run the motor. Make sure it goes at least 1/2" into the test points. Leave the jumper in for a half of a revolution (be careful not to touch the heater under the mold) and then remove it. The water valve should be energized for about 6 to 10 seconds in the last half of the revolution.
Post the results.
Gene.
