Our frig and freezer side by side have been acting up. Electricity was off for 2 days during tropical storm and since then (maybe coincidence) first milk was freezing in frig then ice cream melting in freezer, now everything not cold enough with controls all the way to max. Help?

Pull the back off and check the compressor, it should be humming and the condenser coils warm. If compressor warm, but not running, remove the side cover, take a picture of the wires, then order a new start device AP3083556.
