This morning when I got up, there was smoke in the kitchen, I was uncertain what it was. I now know that it was from the refrigerator. This afternoon, I opened it up and everything was de-thawing. So I guess this morning, something burnt up. I am uncertain how to find the problem. Please help.

Take the white piece off the compressor, and that is the part to replace. The part # is 8201786. That part goes out all the time. It is cheap, and worth you doing it. The part Is not more that about $45.00 to 60.00 depending on where you get. Its either you take the c hance, or buy a new refrigerator. Your chances for success is about 90%. Tom

Thank you for your help, I found a local company that had a universal replacement part and I put it on and it is cooling and working again. Part was only 27.55 with tax. Can't bet that.
