We have a Maytage Gemini that has been throwing the F1-1, F1-2, and F1-H errors. The F1-1 and F1-2 appear to be Runaway Oven errors according the manual, what does that mean exactly?

Also, the F1-H was only thrown once and it was months ago.

Because of the other two errors I was considering replacing the sensors in both ovens, see what happens, and if that doesn't take care of it, replacing the control pad.

I'm somewhat confused about the sensors as there appears to be a long and short for this model, but it isn't apparent from the diagram that there is a difference between the two sensors in the oven and which sensor you'd need.

Fault Suspect Failure Area Correction When Checked

F1-1 Runaway Cook Upper Oven Check the sensor 1050-1100
ohms, wiring, control
Every 6 seconds that the
control sees the latch
unlocked.

F1-2 Runaway Cook Lower Oven Check the sensor 1050-1100
ohms, wiring, control
Every 6 seconds that the
control sees the latch
unlocked

F1-H EEPROM Read Error Replace Control Anytime

Any insight is appreciated.

Can someone provide clarification of how to test the oven temperature sensor with the multi-tester. I've followed the guide to get the meter set-up correctly. I make sure to zero out the meter first. My question is (and it's a newb question), where do I put the red and black probes, do I just have them touch the sensor anywhere, do I need to at least pull the sensor out, unplug it and place the probes where the wires would connect?

Again, any help is appreciated.

Remove the wires from the sensor and touch the leads to those connections. make sure you remember which places the wires go.

I finally had an opportunity to check the sensors. On this model, you actually have to pull the oven out and remove the backing plate to get to the connectors for the sensors. They both read a little over 1050 so I'm assuming they are good.

Out of the three codes it would kick it seems to favor F1-2 the most regarding the runaway lower oven. However, since the sensors turn out alright. Should I assume it's the control panel?

I would check the connections to the clock/control first make sure they aren't loose, if they are fine then the clock/control is probably the problem, part # AP377974

Nat,

I appreciate your insight, I finally got around to doing this a couple weeks ago and forgot to post back. The connections were fine, I ordered the new control panel, replaced it, and christmas dinner went off without a hitch.

Thanks everyone for the insight, owned a multimeter for years and never used it. This was a great learning experience.
