Hello, I just got a kenmore model #665 dishwasher from a person who was moving and found that when I run it the detergent door does not open. I've read through your other forums about the springs and such and it appears that I probably have an electrical or an actuator problem. I was hoping you could help with info on how to test the dispenser actuator manually and how to make sure the timer is sending the proper current to the dispenser? Any advice or info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

hey sorry to have bothered you earlier, but I've discovered the root of the problem. The door actuator is actually run off the timer mechanically, not electrically. The people who had the dishwasher before me broke the retaining tabs off the door and the timer mechanism wasn't engaging the soap dispenser mechanism. I added a few screws to compensate for the broken tabs and everything is ok now.

thanks anyway, it looks like your forums really help people out.
