My refrigerator was not getting cold but freezer was fine. then i started getting frost/ice on the opening between freezer and produce section. after reading a few threads, i opened up my freezer and removed the cover, observed the fan in freezer for a few hours and the evaporative fan did not work at all. then, i set a digital multimeter to a symbol that looks like "->+", i think this is for continuity testing. then, i unplugged and checked the fan cables, i did not get a zero, so i guess its dead? i plugged the AC back in and checked the cables coming to the fan and it read 120V, so that's good. i have also taken some pictures, the fan in the back looks like its burnt?can the experts please take a look. also, it says panasonic on the fan and not GE. not sure why. is the fan the only thing that might be bad? since i can hear the compressor kicks on and then off every now and then and the freezer is cooling just fine? can you please give me a link to the correct fan motor as well as the fan blades(i am asking for fan blades also, as its becoming almost impossible for me to remove them from the current fan, unless there is a trick to removing them). malinga attached the following image(s):

Here are your parts Replacement parts for General Electric GTS16KBMFRWW Refrigerator | AppliancePartsPros.comFan motor is 610 in Section 2, fan blade is 613 in Section 2. If you click on a part's picture often a new page will open with more info. i plugged the AC back in and checked the cables coming to the fan and it read 120V, so that's good. This confirms that the fan is toast because it is getting power and will not turn. |
